Description

Hi,

I really like gregarius, but it's not too compact. I like the lilina http://vrypan.net/linkblog/ standard version better. Only titles are displayed and the content is hidden until one clicks on the title.

It looks to me that one would need to modify the source code since the div containing the content doesn't have any id and so it cannot be solved by just modifying the theme.

I think the Lilina model looks very sleek. One disadvantage is that clicking on the title of the item does not display that item, but displays the item's description. In order to view the item proper, one must click on the feed title next to the item title. Since this behavior is quite counter-intuitive, I think it would be better for Gregarius to use another element (like the permalink icon) to expand/collapse feed item descriptions.

This can be done by modifying a theme. See http://gregarius.ruffin.info/ and Olivier RUFFIN's theme http://sinless.org/pipermail/gregarius-dev/2005-August/000399.html

It can be done by modifying a theme, but it'd be nice to have a built in theme that does this.. Or atleast a page on the wiki that tells us what changes to make to get this effect with the default theme..

Not all of us are slick ajax developers ;-)

The theme is available for download at http://gregarius.ruffin.info/themes/3panes.zip. I try to keep it in sync with changes made by Marco on main default theme. You just have to uncompress this theme in your themes directory, and activate it through Admin/config panel. This theme works only with Gregarius 0.5.1 + (so at the time of this note, it means only with svn trunk version of Gregarius)

The lilina theme at http://themes.gregarius.net/index.php?req=info&id=6 mimics this behavior.

It is still a work in progress, however version 0.2 covers most of what this ticket is about.

I just downloaded this and I really like it.

The only thing that seems odd is, wouldn't it make it more consistant looking if the feed icon was before the title?

It would make a nice column of icons that can easily be traced.

Good point. I will change that in the next version.

I would never have seen this comment here, but I was searching for your patches and the results included a link to this ticket. I guess I should add myself to the cc list.
