Naming of Folders broken after v.0.5.4

Here's a bug report from a Gregarius user:

The bug appears when I add a new folder in the folders tab of the admin table. After typing the name of the new folder in the text box and clicking the 'add' button, the software will automatically delete any spaces or apostrophes that may have been in the given name. For example, if I name a folder 'Jake's Blog Class', the resulting name becomes: 'JakesBlogClass?'. When we first installed and began using Gregarius [i.e. pre- v.0.5.4 -- ed.], this didn't happen.
