"Mark as Read" Button

Description

It would be nice to have a small icon, like the one for "Permanent Link" and the "Unread/Sticky/Private" Edit button next to the title of items, to quickly mark an item as "Read".

Sometimes I don't have the time to read all the items on the frontpage, and would therefore like a way to mark the items I have read with one click, on an individual basis.

The "double click to mark as read" plugin is good for this.

Also give the "Mark to read as here" plugin a shot http://plugins.gregarius.net/index.php?req=info&id=5

This was discussed in detail a while ago and this was the solution that we came up with if. If these two plugins do not solve your problem, then please post here again.
