Mark all as read on click

Description

I assume this is where I'm supposed to submit a feature request. If so, I'd love it if when you clicked the link to display a feed, it would mark all of that feeds items as read.

  • keywords set to plugin.
  • status changed from new to assigned.
  • milestone set to Gregarius 0.5.2.

I second that.

This is how Bloglines works and I like it. I do not have to mark each item explicitly as read, neither have I to press any "Mark as read" button.

This feature is great when coupled with "keep new" checkbox.

Hi,

I wonder if it makes sense to make a button on each item to mark "mark read up to this post", I found myself sometimes read half of the posts from a feed and stops.... it's quite inconvenient to have to make each read post one by one.....

Thanks for the great application.

@ ymehui : you should try the 'double click to mark as read' plugin. or the 'mark to read as here plugin'.

when implementing this ticket we need to be careful about the rel links that are prefetched by the browser. We should ignore marking the items as read if there is a X-prefetch header.

Please don't make gregarius like Bloglines. Having to explicitly mark an item as read is one of the reasons I switched. I like being able to quickly scan the items in my main window and leave without having to checking a keep as new box and know that everything will still be there when I have time to come back and process everything.

Count me as someone who wants gregarius to work like Bloglines. There is a reason why its popular, because the UI makes sense. There is a reason why I'm leaving it and want to use Gregarius, but I want it to have this feature.

I understand that some people might *not* want this feature, however, that is what configuration options are for. If this is something that people can turn on or off as they please, then everyone is happy.
