Ability to turn off "unread" counts

Description

If there is already a way to do this, I am sorry.

I was hoping to be able to use this aggregator for a group of people. In a case like this, the unread counts are unnecessary at best, and even somewhat confusing. Is there a way of turning off all mention of unread items other than removing the text in the script used to create these notations?

Thank you!

It doesnt look like there is any way to do this without editing the source. I could make it YACO. Should I?

Sameer, this could be quite difficult to implement. Please, give me a couple days to analyze the implications.

Just for the record, you guys are fantastic! If it is ok for me to ask, why was the milestone changed to 0.6.0? I am using 0.5.0... Just want to be sure that I am using this system correctly. Thank you both/all for everything!

The milestone was changed to 0.6.0 because that is when Marco (hiding as anonymous; although I recognize his turns of phrase in that comment) thought it likely that this feature would be implemented. Since 0.5.0 has already been released, it is incorrect to make that the milestone, unless you plan to go back in time and add this feature to the 0.5.0 release. Of course, if you did that, there would be no need to make this ticket now.

Technically, this enhancement request is fulfilled by Sameer's NoUnreadItems plugin. However, I am not going to resolve this pending the resolution of a discussion on the Gregarius forums on the consequences of the fact that the plugin only activates at the end of the update process.
