super crazy vacation feature

Despite the fact this looks like a really weird request, the 1000+ items in my personal Gregarius installation and I am interested in implementing this feature even if Marco thinks it is a horrid idea and refuses to include it in Gregarius. The best implementation concept I can think of at this time (6:30 AM, and yes, I have been up all night) is a "summary" theme that compiles the links stored in items and then provides a list of links to the user, with the ability to mark all items related to the links as read. Better implementation ideas are requested.

This looks like a nice idea. Personally I am of the opinoin, that it should be a plugin.

When I saw this, I thought "vacation feature" meant that you'd be gone for a couple of months, so it'd be a way for you to disable gregarius updating it's feeds, since you're not there (therefore saving bandwidth).

This seems like a good idea as well though, and I agree with Sameer that it might be better as a plugin. We need more plugins anyway to get the rush started, so this would be a good example (especially if it shows how to use some of the hooks..).
